Recent Advances in Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (RASTSD-2026)

The International Conference on "Recent Advances in Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (RASTSD)-2026" will be held from January 8–10, 2026, jointly organized by the Departments of Biotechnology, Chemistry, and Chemical Engineering. It serves as a platform for experts from academia and industry to discuss advancements in chemical and biological sciences, focusing on sustainability.

Conference Overview

The conference will feature keynote talks, panel discussions, and workshops addressing innovative research, sustainable production, smart manufacturing, and transformative mobility solutions. Participants can exchange knowledge and network to drive innovation in engineering, chemistry, and sustainability practices.

Prospective authors are encouraged to contribute and shape the conference through submissions of their original, unpublished research abstracts. The abstract guidelines and submission details are available on the website.

Organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Department of Chemistry, and Department of Chemical Engineering, jointly with Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (an autonomous institute affiliated to VTU, approved by AICTE & UGC).

About DSCE

Founded in 1979 under the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) is one of India’s premier institutions for technical education. Approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), the college offers 18 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate programs along with research centers recognized by VTU for Ph.D. studies. The 7-acre green campus provides state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and well-resourced libraries. DSCE is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade and has received national recognition including NIRF rankings.

Department of Chemistry

Established in 1979, the Department of Chemistry adopts best pedagogical methods to maximize knowledge transfer and interdisciplinary thinking. It offers BE courses, elective courses, and Ph.D. programs. The department hosts VTU research centre facilities, has secured research funding, and maintains numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals. Faculty are experienced doctorates committed to research and regularly conduct invited talks, webinars, and industry interactions.

Department of Chemical Engineering

Established in 1982, the Department of Chemical Engineering is accredited by the NBA and recognized as a research centre under VTU. The department has well-established laboratories, experienced faculty, and consistent research funding from agencies like KSCST, IIChE, and AICTE. It offers M.Sc. (Engg by Research) and Ph.D. programs and provides scholarships to deserving students. The department regularly organizes FDPs, workshops, and industrial interactions.

Department of Biotechnology

Established in 2006, the Department of Biotechnology offers B.E., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs. Accredited by NBA-Tier 1, the department focuses on applied biological sciences, computational biology, and biochemical engineering. It has secured substantial R&D grants and maintains facilities like a semi-commercial Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory. Faculty and students publish in SCI and SCOPUS-indexed journals and actively participate in national associations and initiatives.
