Dr. N. Sriraam, currently serving as Dean of R&D, Professor, and Head of the Department of Medical Electronics Engineering at DSCE, brings over 26.5 years of rich academic and research experience to the role. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering His expertise spans wearable electronics, biomedical signal and image processing, and deep AI applications in healthcare. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering with a PhD from Multimedia University (Malaysia) and an MTech (Biomedical Engineering) from Manipal, he has guided numerous PhD candidates, published prolifically in international journals, and led many sponsored research projects and patents. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering as Dean R&D, Dr. Sriraam is committed to fostering a vibrant research ecosystem—promoting interdisciplinary collaborations, facilitating cutting‐edge innovation, and mentoring aspiring researchers and faculty to elevate DSCE’s research portfolio to global standards.

Counselling Center

At DSCE, Counselling Center is dedicated to supporting students with challenges related to emotional and mental well-being, academic stress, and other personal concerns. The sessions are conducted on a one-to-one basis, allowing students to openly share their difficulties in a safe, confidential, and supportive environment.

Each counselling session typically lasts 45–60 minutes, with the frequency and follow-up depending on the student’s individual needs, goals, and progress. While some concerns can be addressed through short-term counselling, more complex issues may require periodic follow-up sessions to ensure gradual and sustained improvement. Students seeking help are scheduled for the earliest available appointment.

Counselling services are provided by qualified counsellors, licensed psychologists, and therapists, who approach every student with empathy, respect, and non-judgment, ensuring complete confidentiality.

The counsellor’s role is to:

  • Help students cope with crisis situations and reduce distress.
  • Support personal growth and overall well-being.
  • Assist in reshaping thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviours.
  • Set clear, achievable goals to track and encourage progress.

 

Outcome of Counselling

Through counselling, students are able to:

  • Develop effective coping skills.
  • Improve decision-making abilities.
  • Strengthen interpersonal relationships.
  • Experience positive changes, often within just a few sessions, with sustained improvement through follow-ups where needed.

Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging

Subject: Prevention and Prohibition of Ragging in DSCE as per AICTE/UGC//GoK/VTU Regulations


As per the directives issued by AICTE, UGC, VTU, and the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the premises of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE), Bangalore, including classrooms, hostels, canteens, buses, libraries, and any area of the campus.

Any student found indulging in ragging or abetting it, whether directly or indirectly, will face strict disciplinary action as per the existing rules and regulations. Punishments may include suspension, expulsion, debarring from academics/placements, cancellation of admission, and legal prosecution as applicable under law.

All students are hereby informed to:

  1. Strictly refrain from any form of ragging or harassment of fellow students—verbal, physical, or psychological.
  2. Submit the Anti-Ragging Affidavit (as per AICTE/UGC guidelines) duly signed by the student and parent/guardian at the time of admission/hostel allotment.
  3. Attend anti-ragging awareness sessions conducted during orientation and as scheduled by the college/hostel authorities.
  4. Report immediately to the Principal, Wardens, or Anti-Ragging Committee members if any incident of ragging is witnessed or experienced.

Support & Reporting:

The institution has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad for proactive monitoring and handling of any complaints. All cases will be dealt with utmost confidentiality and seriousness.
