    Program Outcomes

    Engineering Graduates will be able to:

    • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
    • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
    • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
    • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
    • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
    • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
    • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
    • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
    • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) of DSCE. The Department of EIE was established in the year 1992. It offers undergraduate course in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, post graduate course in Micro-electronics and Control System. The undergraduate program has an intake of 60 and the post graduate program has an intake of 18. The Department also offers PhD program and is a recognized research centre of Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The curriculum is suitably designed to meet the challenges of global technology. Dynamic student culture and cutting edge infrastructure facilities with well supported top management are making the students to excel in their profession. MOUs with the leading industries, institutes and association with professional bodies are also being used for the holistic growth of the department.

Best Project of the Year 2022-23

Congratulations to the Project Team Mr. Prajwal Y S, Ms. Sneha M N, Ms. Aishwarya, Mr. Arunkumar guided by Dr. J S Rajasekar and Dr. S P Meharunnisa of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering Department, DSCE for being awarded for the “BEST PROJECT OF THE YEAR 2022-23” in the 46th Series of Student Project Programme at STATE LEVEL SEMINAR AND PROJECT EXHIBITION held on 11th and 12th August 2023, organized by KARNATAKA STATE COUNCIL FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, Govt. of Karnataka.

Engineering Conclave 2023

Engineering Conclave - 2023 was organized on 24/06/2023 to enrich the engineering education system with a need-based curriculum. Mr. Ravi Joshi, Engineering Manager, Global Delivery Center, Yokogawa India Ltd, Bengaluru participated in the curriculum discussion for the EIE department.

Artificial Intelligence for Embedded Systems

5 days Student Development Training Program on “Artificial Intelligence for Embedded Systems” was conducted, in association with DIGITOD & STMicroelectronics, from 05/06/2023 to 09/06/2023.

Project Open Day 2023

Project Open Day-2023 was conducted on 10/06/2023 for the final-year students. The inaugural program was organized in the CD Sagar Auditorium of DSCE. The Chief guests for the inaugural program were Dr. Shrinivas S. Balli, Vice Chancellor, Nrupathunga University, Bengaluru and Dr. Sanjeev Kubakaddi, Director, ITIE Knowledge Solutions, Bengaluru

Introduction to Internet of Things

Ms. J. Sushmitha, a third-year student successfully completed Swayam NPTEL online certification on the course “Introduction to Internet of Things” with Elite Silver and secured 87%.

Automatic Control

Mr. Krishna Mohan VSS, Asst. Professor, Dept. of EIE, completed NPTEL Online Course in Gold scoring 95% on the topic “Automatic Control”.

Student Project

Two student project proposals have been approved by the KSCST Council under the "Student Project Programme - 46th Series". The budgetary amount of Rs.6000/- has been sanctioned for the development of a prototype project model.

National Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Techniques

Department of EIE organized “National Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Techniques for Electronics, Control & Automation (NCAECA-2022)” from 17th to 19th November-2022.

Industrial Visit to BWSSB

The Department of EIE arranged an Industrial visit to the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), T.K.Halli, Bangalore on 18-11-2022

In-House Internship Training Program for 2nd-year Students

The Department of EIE arranged an in-house inter/intra internship training program for the 2nd year students in collaboration with Bosch Rexroth Center, DSU, Innovative campus & Wimate Technology solutions, Bangalore, for a period of 3 weeks (2nd Nov-22nd Nov 2022)

Industrial Visit to BIOCON

An industrial visit was organized by the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, DSCE, for the students of 4 th semester on 30th June 2022.

Workshop on “ARM Embedded CORTEX Processors – IoT and Multimedia Applications”

A 5 days workshop was conducted for the 4th and 6th semester students, from 22nd to 25 June and 27th June 2022. The workshop was on “ARM Embedded CORTEX Processors – IoT and Multimedia Applications”.
