    Program Outcomes

    Engineering Graduates will be able to:

    • Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
    • Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
    • Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
    • Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
    • Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
    • The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
    • Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
    • Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
    • Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
    • Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
    • Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

Welcome to the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE) at DSCE, established in 1992. We offer a robust undergraduate program in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, with an intake of 60. The department takes pride in providing a Ph.D. program, recognized as a research center by Visveswaraya Technological University, Belagavi. Our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to address the ever-evolving challenges of global technology. Fostering a dynamic student culture, we provide cutting-edge infrastructure facilities, complemented by strong support from top management, ensuring our students excel in their professional journeys.

Industrial Visit

On February 13th, 2024, students from the V semester of the E&IE department had the opportunity to visit Continental Automotive Pvt. Ltd. India, in Bommasandra for an industrial visit. Continental AG is one of the world's largest automotive suppliers and manufacturers of various automotive components, systems, electronics, tires, and technical elastomers.

National Conference

The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering organized the 2nd National Conference on "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Techniques for Electronics, Control & Automation" (NCAECA-2024) held from February 8th to 10th, 2024. The conference featured insightful keynote speeches from esteemed professionals representing various industries, who shared their invaluable experiences and expertise with the attendees.

HC-900 Honeywell’s Hybrid Controller

One day training program on HC-900 Honeywell’s Hybrid Controller was organized for faculty and students of Dept. of EIE on 11/12/2023. The training was given by Dr. Meenchatchi Sundaram.S, Additional Professor, Manipal Institute, Dept. of Instrumentation Control Engineering.

Industrial Visit To MTR

The purpose of the industrial visit was to provide real-world exposure to food processing automation and instrumentation systems. This visit enhanced the students' understanding of industrial automation, quality control, and the application of instrumentation in the food manufacturing industry.

Best Project of the Year 2022-23

Congratulations to the Project Team Mr. Prajwal Y S, Ms. Sneha M N, Ms. Aishwarya, Mr. Arunkumar guided by Dr. J S Rajasekar and Dr. S P Meharunnisa of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering Department, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering for being awarded for the “BEST PROJECT OF THE YEAR 2022-23” in the 46th Series of Student Project Programme at STATE LEVEL SEMINAR AND PROJECT EXHIBITION held on 11th and 12th August 2023.

Week Long Expert Lecture Series

Department of Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, HOD of the EI&E dept. Dr. J.S Rajashekar, professor, along with the session coordinator Dr. S.P Meharunnisa, assistant professor, Dept. of EI&E organized one-week long expert lecture sessions for students by experts from different platforms from February 6, 2023 to February 11, 2023

Mr.Balasubramani, Mr.Jnanesh, Mr.Akash of 6th semester have won 3rd prize in the 9th Project Innovation Contest-2020 organized by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
