Center of excellence with Capgemini

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Capgemini technology services India limited to establish the Centre of excellence - Aerospace Technical publications in the department of Aeronautical Engineering, DSCE. The MoU is signed on 21.10.2021 in presence of Dr. CPS Prakash, Principal, DSCE, Sri. Guruvenkatesh, Vice president, placements, DSI, Dr. Hareesha NG, Prof and Head, Dept. Of AE, DSCE, Dr. Ramkumar, Chairman, Dept. Of Aerospace, DSU, Sri Chandra Reddy, Head of ER&D, Capgemini, India, Sri. Thirunavukkarasu Athmanathan, Director, Capgemini, Chidanand Hiremath, Vice President, Capgemini.

Project Exhibition 2020-2021


SAE Aero-design west 2019 Competition, USA

The students team of ARCIS, DSCE indigenously designed and built an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) satisfying the overall design and performance specifications stipulated by SAE, USA.

The team participated in three different categories of SAE Aero-design west competition viz. Micro class, Regular Class and Advanced class held in California, USA during April 2018.

There are 75 teams participated globally. The team ARCIS from DSCE has won First Place in Micro class, Second Place in Regular Class as well as in advanced class.


Farewell day Function

The students of II and III year and the staff of department of Aeronautical Engineering arranged a farewell day on 26th April 2019 for the final year students of 2015 batch.

Department of Aeronautical engineering Students organized Teachers Day for the Staffs in the Department on 05.09.2019.

MechAura-2020

Date: 23rd Jan, 2020.

Shreya Giri, the students of 3rd year Aeronautical Engineering has owned a cash prize of 1,00,000/- (One Lakh Rupees) and an assured job offer in the competition “MechAura-2020” conducted by Collins Aerospace for 3rd year female students from mechanical and allied branches across India. ‘MechAura’ had shortlisted 21 students all over India in the month of December-2019. Amongst the 21 students, there was a final face off round on 23rd Jan, 2020, in which she became the winner of MechAura 2020.

Higher studies in abroad

Ms. Aprana Ravi, the student of final year Aeronautical Engineering got selected for master’s programme in “Advanced Aeronautical Engineering” in Imperial College London, which is ranked 9th in the world in the QS world university rankings 2020 and is the only university in the UK to focus exclusively on science, medicine and engineering.

Inauguration of MIG-21 : Jet Engine

IAF has allotted a Gas Turbine Engine (with after burner) to the Department of Aero. Engg, educational purpose for the students. The Jet Engine was inaugurated by The Secretory Shri. Galiswamy and the Principal Dr. C P S Prakash on 21st May 2018.

Farewell Day

The Department staff and the students celebrated Farewellday on 27th April for the final year students.2014 batch.

EduCADD-Software-Skill Set:

Students of pre-final year got benefitted with the interaction of EduCAAD organization on 12th April 2018. The interaction was about learning the computer tools related to aeronautical engineering and necessities in getting placement in Industry.


GOODWILL GATE2IIT:

Students of pre-final year got benefitted by the interaction of GOODWILL GATE2IIT organization on 11th April 2018. The interaction was related to preparation for the GATE entrance exams, and also highlighted their achievements through effective teaching in securing good GATE ranks.


Ethnic Day:

Department staff and students celebrated ETHNIC DAY on 3rd April 2018, by wearing ethnic dresses representing their culture and heritage.


Alumni Meet 2018

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering has arranged an Alumni meet on 24th March 2018. About 18 alumni have participated in the event. Dr CPS Prakash, Principal, DSCE inaugurated the program and addressed the alumni. The alumni interacted with the staff and the junior students of the department and shared their experience.


SAE Aero-design west 2018 Competition, USA

The students team of ARCIS, DSCE indigenously designed and built an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to carry a maximum payload weight of up to 12Kg and also satisfying the performance specification stipulated by SAE, USA. The team will be participating in the SAE Aero-design west competition in regular class as well as in micro class to be held in California, USA during April 2018
