The Department of Computer Science & Engineering,DSCE, conducted a Talk on “Software development the industry way” for the faculties and students of 7th Semester on 7th January 2023, Saturday from 9.30 am – 11.00 am through online Google Meet. There were more than 100 participants, including faculties and students of 7th semester. Ms. Deepthi had discussed on how to identify your role as PM, Developer, Test, release and Maintain and what is the need and Creation of a project on You Track. Mr. Pramod Kumar N started with software development tools applications and then had a demonstration on Tasks like creating document, bugs and test tasks.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has organized a technical talk on Cyber Security on 18th November 2022. This Invited Industry Lecture by Mr. Ajay Ganapule, Program Manager, TCS, is intended to help the faculty members to update themselves with one of the emerging technology “Cyber Security”. For the students to meet the industry requirements, the faculty members need to be trained with advanced concepts. Hence the Resource person from industry covered the following topics. 95 students and 13 Faculty members attended the session and are benefited.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering conducted the event on “Research Interaction” for the faculties and students of 7th Semester on 21/9/2022 Wednesday from 3 p.m-4 p.m, at Research Hub CSE Room-401. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Ramesh Babu, Professor and Head of the Department of CSE, DSCE. The event was supported by Dr. C P S Prakash, Principal, DSCE. There were more than 100 participants, including faculties and students of 7th semester. Faculties prepared a short PPT presentation relating to their research projects and presented to students, this helps faculties to guide and get the students to contribute through their final year project and also students get quality guidance to their project work.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Technical Talk on theme Need for Digital Forensics and Cyber Security in Criminal Investigation for the students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year on 20/8/2022. The event had begun with the introduction of the speaker Mr.Phaneendar B N. He is a Court Commissioned Forensic Expert and Chairman and Managing Trustee for Clue4 Evidence Foundation. Students were very enthusiastic and actively interacted in the session. The session was ended with the vote of thanks from faculty coordinators and Students thanked the respected speaker and Department of Computer Science and Engineering for arranging the talk.

Department of CSE, DSCE, organised an invited talk on 28th May 2021 at 5:30 pm through virtual mode by Mr. Srinivas Hulsusgud.
Mr Srinivas Hulsusgud, a Senior Cloud Solution Architect, Microsoft NJ, USA. He spoke on "Microsoft AI" and its applications. He also threw light on Microsoft Azure and various AI projects Microsoft has been working on including the humanitarian projects. It was a very informative session.
Invited talk on "Wireless Technology Evolution with a Focus on 5G"
Department of CSE, DSCE, organised an invited talk on 22nd May 2021 at 11:15 am through virtual mode by Mrs. Sreelakshmi K S, R7D Manager, at Nokia Labs.
Mrs. Sreelakshmi, the expert speaker, has a vast experience in the field of telecommunications and has been working on 5G technology currently.
She spoke on “Wireless Technology Evolution with a Focus on 5G”, and explained the different generations of mobile communication. The students asked a number of queries on the concept 5G and its deployment details. The session was both interactive and informative.
Invited talk on "Machine Learning Projects in Industry"
A webinar was held on 22nd of May, 2021 between 11:30am 1:30pm, in the Department of CSE. It was attended by about 85 participants. The speaker was Apoorva Jaiswal, an alumna of CSE, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. The webinar started with Ms. Apoorva presenting topics on Machine Learning pipeline, a focus on building the data models and training them to get the desired result, data preparation, data ingestion, deploying the model, the different platforms.
She then spoke about the skill set required to work on the field stated above, skills required for Data Science, Data Analysis, Model Deployment, Data Engineering etc. She also included the sources one could access to learn these skills.
The session ended with an interactive question answer session, where participants asked the speaker about her journay from CSE, DSCE to JP Morgans. She resolved many queries on placement preparations.

Invited talk on "Decoding the RFP Cycle – Understanding the End-to-End Process in the IT Industry"
Department of CSE, DSCE, organised an invited talk on 15th May 2021 at 11:15 am through virtual mode by Mr. Pratul Mukhopadhay.
Mr. Pratul, the expert speaker, has been our student between 2007-2011 under VTU. He has worked for 3.5+ years with Oracle India Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore, as a Senior Solution Engineer Currently he is working with HCL Technologies in Infrastructure Services Division as a Manager in Digital Workplace Practice - IT Infra Global Pre-Sales, Financial Services.
Mr. Pratul spoke on “Decoding the RFP Cycle – Understanding the End-to-End Process in the IT Industry”, and explained the complete Request for Proposal flow to the 6th semester students. The session was both interactive and informative.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, DSCE, organized a webinar on 17/4/2021 at 10:00 am, by Mr. Ganesh Banda, CEO and Founder, Neoastra, Canada, and our distinguished alumni, for the 8th Sem students. He spoke on the “Computer Science and Career Creativity”.
The session gave insight to what to look forward to in their profession as Computer Science Engineers and the way forward. The students interacted with the speaker and got their queries answered.

Webinar on Applications of Hardware in Solving Arithmetic Problems
Department of CSE organized a Webinar on 11/12/2020. The resource person was Mr. S Keshav Murthy, Faculty at WASE Wipro, Bengaluru and shared his vast experience in the Hardware Design. About 100 students of 3rd semester attended the event on “Applications of Hardware in Solving Arithmetic Problems” The event started with introduction to basic hardware components embedded in the ALU of the computer (universal gates), and was followed by its application in storing data , and preforming arithmetic problems , the event was concluded with various algorithms which are used to perform bit multiplication in a faster rate , the key take away of the event was the importance of hardware components in the functioning of a computer.

Finally, the applications of ETL in the real world, which certainly was the key take away from the event.
WEBINAR Mastering Recursion
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering organized a Webinar on “MASTERING RECURSIONS” on 5th September 2020 at 10:00 am. The speaker was Mr. Sumeet Malik, Founder of Pepcoding for the 5th-semester students.
The event started by a welcome address by the fifth semester coordinator. The talk focused on the programming concept of Recursion and was well received by the audience. The session ended with an interactive session followed by the vote of thanks by Ayush Singh.
WEBINAR OBJECT ORIENTED AI and AI ETHICS
The department of CSE conducted a webinar on Object-Oriented AI and AI Ethics for the students of the 7th Semester on 17th September 2020, noon. The webinar was delivered by our distinguished alumni, Founder and CEO of lethical.ai Mr. Akshaj Jain. The topics covered in the talk include Object-Oriented Machine Learning libraries such as Scikit Learn and Pandas.
The webinar was arranged with the motive of sharing the knowledge and practical experience of Mr.Akshaj, who has sound experience in the field of AI/ML. The webinar ended with a Q&A session where students and faculty interacted with Mr. Akshaj on the topic.
Invited Talk Series on "Preparedness for Higher Education"
An Invited Talk Series on Preparedness for Higher Education was conducted by ForeignAdmits on 8th February, 2020, Saturday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in Gallery Room 2, Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering as a part of ACM-W chapter. It was attended by 35 second and third year students across several departments. The speaker for the event was Nikhil Jain, the co-founder of ForeignAdmits and an alumnus of Monash University, Sydney.
He shared his experiences from studying abroad and about preparation for higher studies while in college. Information like timeline on when to start on various phases of the process, finding funding, various scholarships, things to do in the initial few days of college, writing Statement of Purpose, CV, Letters of Recommendation, etc. was shared. The talk was really insightful and all the participants received complementary help on applications for selected universities. Overall it was a successful event.
Technical Talk on “Multilayered Cloud Security”
The Speaker started with his experience to the Indian Administrative Services outlined the importance of IAS, list of services (Central and state), Policy making, decision making, impact of their services in the Society, their reputation. Compared the Services with all other employment opportunities, focussed on the guidelines how to prepare for the examination, listed out the available subjects ,examination pattern, eligibility criteria, showed the video of the IAS Training Academy. The session ended up with the students’ interaction.
