The EEE Department is recognized as R & D Centre by VTU during the year 2012, which offers Doctoral program (PhD) and M.Sc ( Engg.) by research. Four students are perusing Ph.D in the R & D center under the guidance of Dr. P. Usha and Dr. Dhanalakshmi.
The objective of Research at EEE department is to innovate & develop the solutions to the challenges that the power sector & PSU’s are facing. The research efforts are enhanced through the collaboration with leading Training/ Research Institutes and Industries. The research at EEE department has given opportunity for the faculty members and students to publish papers in the reputed/leading International/National Journals/conference proceedings. The department regularly receives grants from various reputed funding organizations viz: CPRI, AICTE, KSCST, IEDC etc.

The faculty members are actively carrying out the funded projects from various reputed funding agencies. The department has got project which was funded by CPRI under RSOP Scheme, Ministry of Power for Rs 9.5 lakhs to carry out project titled “Development of Appropriate Algorithms for Efficient Management of Energy Control Centre’s and the project was completed successfully.
