CIL - is established in the year 2006 under the banner of DSI to bridge the gap between pure academics and the corporate realities. The Centre aims to impart innovative soft skill training programs to enable individuals to become champion leaders in their endeavor, and to sustain a high level of performance at the individual and the organizational level.

CIL recognizes the challenge of unleashing the potential of individuals to transform them to achieve excellence. To face the challenge, CIL is armed with eminent Academicians, Coaches, Mentors and Thinkers with hands on experience in the corporate world to design high quality training modules. The primary aim of all the training modules would be to allow individuals to take control of their lives by re-discovering their potential.


Soft Skills

In order to be versatile and successful in today's dynamic business environment, one need to have good credentials with the realization those academics is just one face of the coin. There is a growing need to learn various Soft Skills, which form an integral part of one's overall personality to improve one's own effectiveness. These additional skills sets are highly useful in the long run to build effective teams. By augmenting the existing academic knowledge, one will be able to gain significant advantage to gain a clear edge in the market place.

Induction

Induction training is an innovative device, which helps to make the students to get familiarize with the institution’s culture. Every new inductee needs to be in tune with the institution culture and the training provided to him/ her needs to be more so aligned with the course needs.

This Centre aims to give high quality Soft skills training program keeping in view the globalization process and is scheduled throughout the course of various disciplines such as - Engineering, Management, Diploma in Technical Education and Information technology of DSI. Every semester various modules are delivered by our expert trainers.

Pre - Placement & Placement Training

Placement training plays a key role in a student's career. In order to stand out in the present competitive world, students require excellent functional skills, Leadership and Managerial skills and an exceptional outlook. In today's vibrant job market, organizations seek talents who have both technical and interpersonal skills. Participating in placement training enable the students to know where they stand and where they need to improve.

  • Communication Skills
  • iTell Software: The college has installed iTell software in 2018 in the Digital Library procured from iTell software Consultant from Calicut, Kerala. The students will be trained in various modules in the English Language Lab which enhances their English communication skills. All the first year engineering students were the beneficiaries of the iTell software. The Software consists of various audio-visual and reading exercises related to the English language. Usage of this software on a daily basis helps the students to improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The faculty members are also given a thorough training on the usage of the software.
  • Language Lab
  • The Language Lab is a place where we have different tools and materials to practice and improve our skills and also to learn the language. Language lab enhances the skills of a student, teaches English and improves the ability to Listen, Speak, Read and Write. To improve the skills in any language, one must listen and speak in order to follow the system of that language.

  • Soft - Skills “An Essential Ingredient for Success”
  • An Online Webinar on Soft Skills for the first year engineering students was organized by the Department of Physics & Humanities on 28th May 2021. The resource person, Dr. Kalpana Singh from the Department of Humanities, presented a talk on the nuances of different qualifying skills necessary for up grooming students' overall personality. The objective of the webinar was to introduce different qualities and skills to the students, right at the beginning of their undergraduate program, so that they can understand the importance of different soft skills necessary for their successful personal, academic, social and professional life and inculcate them for their betterment.

The presentation began with the introduction to the soft skills; as the skills, abilities and traits that pertain to personality, attitude and behavior, and how it influences an individual's interaction with others. The knowledge of different important skills which qualify as soft skills such as; communication skills, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, team work, problem solving skills, time management, creativity, leadership skills, conflict management, ability to work under pressure, personal grooming….etc. and how these qualifying skills come under different types of soft skills - Personal skills, Social skills and Methodical skills were highlighted.
